The HP Omen Max 16 one of the very first RTX 5080 gaming laptops that has received a noteworthy price cut, as the California-based PC maker is now granting a 10% discount on this brand-new machine.
More or less surprisingly, it didn't take long for the first big gaming laptop maker to introduce a decent discount on one of its latest 2025 notebooks. In fact, the new Blackwell-powered HP Omen Max isn't even available just yet, but the 16-inch machine can already be preordered well below the official list price of $2,899.
This preorder deal is available directly at HP's official online shop, which is where the Omen Max configuration with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 with 16 GB GDDR7-VRAM is now 10% off and can be snatched for $2,599. Deliveries are scheduled to start in late April, and it's reasonable to assume that the company's very own store will be among the first retailers to have the new 2025 gaming laptop in stock.
Aside from the powerful RTX 5080, this model variant of the HP Omen Max 16 comes with 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The display is a 240Hz IPS panel with a WQXGA resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, up to 500 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color space coverage according to the official spec sheet.
However, the gaming notebook weighs almost 6lbs and is certainly not a portable machine that gamers would want to carry around on a daily basis. That said, this preorder offer is probably a good buying opportunity for early adopters who don't want to wait until the first objective reviews on the new RTX 5080-equipped Omen Max are published.
