Android 16 Beta 2 suggests a new ‘Battery Health’ page is underway

Android 16 Beta 2 clues that Google could introduce a new Battery Health page with the upcoming major software upgrade. This addition will provide specific details about the device’s battery, such as the overall capacity and battery health tips.

9to5Google spotted a few strings about the Battery Health page in the latest Settings app update (on Android 16 Beta 2). The app update is rolling out to Pixel phone holders with version 1.1.0.717462792.

Inputs reveal that the Android 16 Battery Health page will enable users to check the battery health status of their devices. They can also learn certain tips and tricks to extend the battery life and obtain a more stable and durable experience.

The new page shows two main settings:

  • Battery Capacity: The estimated percentage of charge the battery can currently hold compared to a new standard battery.
  • Battery Health Articles: New tips on how to increase the battery’s lifespan.

Users can find the new battery feature in Settings. Just select the Battery section and tap on the Battery Health option. Apart from the health status, you can enable the Adaptive Charging and Avoid extreme temperatures.

The above-listed options are enabled by default. However, you can turn them off at any point if not required.

Google is also working on a recalibration process to improve battery status and measurements. Note that battery capacity indicates that the device’s cell is deteriorating.

If the battery capacity is reduced, users may notice that the battery lasts less time between charges. Google could make more new adjustments to this page before its official rollout for consumers. By that time, you can check other Android 16 Beta 2 features.
